WildFireWeb builds a new dynamic data management system for the North Bay Math Project.
While educators in Sonoma
County and the North Bay Math Project have been running and
participating in the lesson study program for more than 8 years, the
information, insight and data has never been captured electronically.
What happened, were there similarities among demographic groups, how
did the students do, did they grow, were they challenged, what happened
to the participants, how many years did they participate, did they move
on to become facilitators, if so, how many, from where, why? All valid
questions that need to be asked, and the answers aggregated, in order
to measure the performance, success and significance of the program.
Soon,
participants will be able to find these answers and more. With a new
boost of energy and a bit of fresh funding, the North Bay Math Project
enlisted WildFireWeb
to build a data management system to archive the studies, as well as
make them searchable and eventually available via the web to educators
outside of the program. WildFireWeb became involved with the Sonoma
County Office of Education and the North Bay Math Project in 2007 when
they first began development of a fully dynamic online system to manage
all of the lesson study Projects.
